Some details in this case study, including design assets and prototype links, are not publicly shared to respect the client's confidentiality and protect their intellectual property.
Project Overview
When I first encountered the Gotofix Mobile App, it was functional but far from user friendly. Designed by developers purely to get it running, the app lacked thoughtful UX flow, visual hierarchy, and intuitive interaction design.
I was brought in on a contract basis to lead a complete UI/UX redesign of the app’s core experience.
Problem Statement
The initial version of Gotofix, though functional, lacked a guided user experience and visual appeal. Key problems included:
- No design system or visual consistency
- Generic UI components and poor accessibility
- Limited trust-building through design
Goals
Customer Goals
- Book trusted service providers with minimal friction
- Create and manage bookings easily
- Quickly verify accounts and make updates to profile settings
Business Goals
- Book trusted service providers with minimal friction
- Increase customer retention through improved user experience
- Establish a consistent and credible visual brand
Tools & Technologies
- Figma: Wireframes, UI Design, Prototyping
- Adobe Illustrator: Icons and visual assets
- Google Doc: Documentation and feedback tracking
- Teams + WhatsApp: Client communication
- Google Drive: Handoff documentation
- App Store & Play Console: Store visuals and publishing collaboration
My Role & Responsibilities
- Conducted UX audits on the existing app version
- Redesigned major user-facing features including: Homepage, Search Page, Availability Scheduling, Sign In / Sign Up, Account Verification, User Profile, Service Provider Details, Settings, Close Account Flow
- Designed high-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes to communicate user flows and logic
- Collaborated directly with the product owner and developer for design iterations
- Created App Store and Google Play Store screenshots with better visuals and compelling content
- Supported the publishing process across both platforms
Challenges & Solutions
Challenge: The original app had no design documentation or visual guidelines. I was essentially working from scratch.
Solution: I built a lean design system from the ground up, introducing consistent color use, spacing, iconography, and type hierarchy.
Challenge: Getting buy-in for design ideas in an early-stage, pre-validated startup.
Solution: I led a storytelling-based presentation of each flow to the product owner, showing real-world use cases and how each change increased user clarity and conversion potential.
Results & Impact
While the new design has not yet been implemented due to the product awaiting investor validation, the impact has already been felt internally:
- Product owner approved the redesign after two iterations
- Designs are now being used in investor pitch decks
- Improved brand trust through enhanced app store presence
- Post-contract, I was offered a Part-Time position as Brand Experience Manager, overseeing content management and digital touchpoints across the company
Key Improvements Made
- Introduced a clean, modern UI with consistent visual identity
- Defined logical user flows for account creation, booking, and service provider browsing
- Designed verification and profile management experiences for increased trust
- Enhanced accessibility with scalable typography and button sizing
- Improved App Store visuals to better represent the brand and its capabilities

Next Steps
The UI/UX redesign is currently on hold for full implementation, pending validation from potential investors and sponsors. Once secured, the development team will begin integrating the new designs into the live app. In the meantime, I continue to support the brand’s content strategy, digital experience, and product refinement as Gotofix navigates its early growth stage.
